Our home boasts the 4-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom Mahina floor plan with large open spaces and a private den. Indoor and outdoor living merge with vaulted ceilings, an expansive Great Room and full-width lanai doors. The spacious Lanai overlooks the lush greenbelt and KaMilo putting green with western views of Mauna Kea.

Upon entering our home, you are welcomed to upscale Kamaaina-style architecture and décor. Our home is equipped with an expansive gourmet kitchen with upgraded stainless steel appliances paired with all of the cookware you should need to prepare a gourmet feast. This home has both a Keurig and drip coffee maker. We equipped this home to be our own personal retreat so no expense was spared. Our entertainment system includes large flat-screen HDTV, HD Cable, DVD and high speed Wifi internet.

The main level “mini master” bedroom is conveniently located on the entry floor, providing a private retreat for those who may want to limit usage of stairs. This room is located just past the main level powder room and features a King bed, ample closet and storage spaces and its own private en suite bathroom. The en suite bathroom is equipped with a full shower and is separate from the main level powder room providing privacy and convenience to the guest.

The lower floor of the home features the Master Suite, and 2 additional bedrooms. The large Master Suite features an oversized bathroom suite with a separate shower, whirlpool tub and double vanities. The Master Bedroom is a fusion of ancient Hawaiian and luxury décor featuring a King sized bed and overlooking its own private lanai with views of the practice putting green and lush tropical landscaping.

The oversized second Guestroom features two queen beds and is perfect situated as a private retreat from the rest of the home. Tucked away down the hall from the Master Bedroom and family room, this room offers peace and quiet from the rest of the home.

The other bedroom is light and bright with views and direct access to the tropical KaMilo landscaping with 2, twin XL beds.

Getting out to the incredible surroundings of the KaMilo development means a lovely walk to the recreation center to float in the free-form pool, soak in the hot tub, swim laps in the dedicated lap pool, or work up a pre-dip sweat in the exercise room. Sensational snorkeling is a few minutes’ drive to the Mauna Lani Beach Club, where soft, lapping waves are safe for young and old alike, and the adventurous swimmer can lap around Winona, the resort’s own catamaran anchored and ready for sunset sails. The local turtles may accompany you. And when food and drink are needed, Napua is a grill and bar by day and a sophisticated and romantic restaurant by night.

The Shops at Mauna Lani is a convenient onsite plaza for dining, snorkel rentals, groceries, clothing, jewelry, as well as twice-weekly free Polynesian entertainment.   There is always the unknown risks each time VRBO users book a vacation property. Such as the property does not match the description or an unresponsive owner or property manager.
  
  Kamilo 224 do not have those risk. The actual property matches the description and the property manager is responsive. The unit has 2 a/c units. The first night one of the a/c unit failed to operate. The following day I emailed the property manager and the a/c was repaired on the same day. He answered emails within the hour even minutes, assuming you send to the right email address. The email address in VRBO website was not monitored (I learned this after multiple attempts).
  
  Kitchen is well equipped. It would increase the guest satisfaction if the knives were sharpened regularly.
  
  My daughter said that the swimming pools in the rec center is amazing.
  
  Parking is on the property driveway which was designed to accommodate 2 cars. If you rent two full size SUVs as we did, parking will be tight.
  
  In the garage there are lots of beach stuffs. Maybe you can check it out first before you go out to by your own.

  Mike was great about giving us information before and during our stay. We had lots of little questions, and he made us feel welcomed. The house was well maintained, very comfortable, and in a very peaceful neighborhood. The pools were a short walk away, which we used alot. The private beaches were amazing. The location was perfectly located to a fantastic local grocery store, the Mauna Lani hotel which has delicious restaurants.
  We traveled as a family with two children, and couldn't ask for a better experience. Thanks to Mike, we had everything we needed and will definitely use this management company next time we visit.

  We couldn’t have picked a more perfect place for our multigenerational family of 9. Our stay was September 2-9 2023.
  It was like a model home and had an extremely comfortable floor plan.
  We in our 70’s took the mini master bedroom and bath on the main floor.
  While the adult kids and their families took the 3 bedrooms downstairs.
  What a quiet home!

  Mike from Shiwota Management Co. was so professional and accommodating the entire process. A few issues arose but everything was quickly resolved. Considering we never met Mike, we would be happy to use his company again.

  The home along with the beauty and activities in Hawaii, made for a great vacation for 2 generations, 4 adults and 3 children ages 10-16. The exceptional pools and workout room are within easy walking distance; a fun surprise was a putting green just out the back door. The Mauna Lani Beach has snorkeling, beach chairs, cabanas, and convenient parking. We recommend lunch at Lava Lava Beach Club for a fun and delicious Hawaiian experience. SRP Management would be our first choice to rent again on the Big Island.

  The Kamilo property was extremely clean upon arrival. All 4 bedrooms were very spacious and accommodating. The balcony had a huge table for outdoor dining and a BBQ. The pool is a short walk from the house and had two separate pools for adults or children. There was also a Gym that was fully equipped with cardio and weight equipment. Muana Lani Shops and Foodland were a short walk or drive as well as some really great beaches and tide pools. I would definitely stay again.

  We had a great family experience with 7 of us, which included two children. Everything was lovely, except for a few items we are noting: (1) There were no sponges in the kitchen, so we purchased our own; (2) There was a broken wine bottle opener, without full parts, so we purchased a new one and left it. (3) Made bacon and the broiler pan was cracked and grease leaked over the bottom of the oven and smoked. We tossed the pan. (4) The BBQ on the deck needs a cleaning overhaul, and we used it about 4 times that week. (5) The KING size sheets in both master bedrooms were stained.
  Overall, the home was lovely and clean, had a great mountain view, with morning sunrises. The amenities were great for a family, which included the beach access.

  Mikes property is beautiful and perfect for our large group of 9 (3 families) the surroundings are gorgeous and impeccable. The pool is gorgeous and quiet (on the gym side) perfect in the morning. The private beach is just gorgeous and the restaurant there has amazing food, highly recommend the poke and the burgers, not to mention the smoothies! I hope to be able to return in the future.   KaMilo was the perfect place for our family of ten to get away and enjoy each other's company! We woke up to beautiful mountains and stunning sunrises from our patio. The children enjoyed the putting green that was located just outside of our back yard. The pools, communal cooking area and fitness facility were an easy 2 minute walk from our home. Having golf carts allowed us to branch off to browse at the outdoor shopping mall or enjoy the sunsets at the Fairmont and Auberge hotels. Our favourite moments by far were spent at the private beach. Breathtaking! Accommodation was well stocked and the furniture was beautifully crafted! Our host was cheerful and incredibly accommodating when needed. We would definitely book here again!

  I must say this was one of my best experiences with management. The condo itself could use updating. Still comfortable, but worn. The outdoor grill had not been cleaned. Old grease buildup caused a lot of smoke. The oven had problems as well. Not clean and the door didn't close properly. We don't like to cook that much on vacation so we brought neither issue to managements attention. When the toilet backed up we did indeed call maintenance. Mr. Shiwota was quick to respond. Problem was fixed first time. Thank you. But my most grateful experience was the last day. My granddaughter had contracted food poisoning. She had been up all night tossing her tacos. We were packing up and worried about what we should do with her until a 9 pm flight. I called Mr. Shiwota and asked for a late check out. He was very helpful. He offered a 6 pm checkout and gave us information abut local urgent care centers. We were most grateful for the late departure. Issue was resolved and we caught our flight.
  While we had a few issues with the condo, the ones we brought to Mr. Shiwota were quickly and courteously resolved. We would absolutely rent again from Mr. Shiwota.

  Everything about KaMilo 224 was exceptional! A view to die for of mountains shrouded in clouds, Mauna Kea, swaying palms and flowering trees. This is a beautiful home with good amenities as well as proximity to all things fun and exciting! Snorkels, masks, fins, beach chairs, umbrellas and sand toys are plentiful. Beautiful, large grass area in full view of second floor lanai where children played and ran around while adults watched from above. Kids eat comfortably at kitchen island while adults dine at dining room table adjacent to spacious and comfortable great room. Outdoor kitchen is superb. Hated to leave this lovely home.   Our family thoroughly enjoyed staying one week at this beautiful home. The condo was clean and spacious. We enjoyed barbecuing on the lanai and appreciated all the spices left in the cupboard. We enjoyed swimming at the beautiful pool within walking distance from the condo and going to nearby beaches. The condo has everything you need to enjoy a fun day at the beach- towels, chairs, boogie boards, snorkeling equipment, coolers, and sand toys.   This is a great location in Mauna Lani with access to KaMilo pools, the beaches and two top quality resorts (Mauna Lani and Orchid). True to label, the house itself was well-appointed and accommodated 7 family members easily. The kitchen and outdoor lanai made it very easy to cook our own meals and we weren't lacking for anything except the food! Between Costco near the airport and Woodland right in the resort, we were able to find all we needed. The views of Kohala were beautiful all day and night (lights) and the neighborhood was fairly quiet even on New Years Eve. Beds were very comfortable, Shig and Mike were "on it" when you called or texted and took care of things right away. Very responsive. Even a matter that wasn't technically their responsibility, they put me in touch with the KaMilo property mgr. Overall we had a wonderful time and will have great memories for a long time.

  Good vacation - There were a few maintenance issues with the house. We got locked out due to the door trim being loose and unattached in some areas. The wind blew the door shut and we had o send some one around back, luckily it wasn't locked and with people on both sides of door we were able to open. The refrigerator stays open, very difficult to close, need to close very sternly. Beds are hard. Other than just those few issues it was a very nice stay. The pool was too cold, was to cold to use. It would be lots nicer if just slightly heated. I think the pool temperature was the biggest disappointment.

The home is fully equipped with anything you might think of, including fish & bird books, Hawaii guide, coffee grinder, lots of beach towels, comfortable beds, etc. I have only positive things to say about this location, including impeccable pest control (so important in Hawaii). I would highly recommend this property and Shiwota management. Access to the private beach was also great, especially on days with surf because the beach is protected and perfect at the beach club. Hope to come back!

  Our four day stay at KaMilo was absolutely wonderful. The four bedroom, 3 1/2 bath unit was perfect for our family of ten. The location was close to our planned activities, lots of great restaurants, shopping centers and we also enjoyed the amenities on the property. Next time we want to spend more time at the Beach club. We were so happy that this area was away from the vog.

  Our extended family of ten enjoyed staying in KaMilo 224, a beautiful home with enough space for everyone. We all took advantage of the lovely Mauna Lani beach with it’s excellent snorkeling and fine white sand. It was certainly appreciated to have a large washer and dryer to handle all the towels and grandkids’ clothing. It might be helpful to have appliance manuals or instruction sheets for the upgraded appliances. My techie son-in-law had to teach me how to use the stove! Loved the big dining room table, one night all ten of us sat around it playing Taboo. Great family memories made.

  There were seven of us: 5 adults and 2 children. It was a wonderful place to gather the family for a Hawaiin vacation. We made use of the kitchen for several meals and it was well appointed. We all enjoyed the condo association pool. We never did use the adult pool. There were beach chairs, mats, toys and boogie boards in the garage that we all used. We appreciated Shig's attention to us while we were there. Great rental. We'd rent this again!

  The house and location were wonderful. We had 3 couples and the space worked well for all of us. It also would be nice for a family with children, and we may be back with our grandchildren. There is a beautiful mountain view. The kitchen was well equipped. There were lots of new towels and beach towels. When we called about the empty gas in the grill, Shig appeared within 5 minutes with a refill. Overall, it was a great trip.

  This was my third time renting from Shiwota Properties. The home was beautifully appointed, impeccably clean, and when I called with an inquiry about the gas grill, it was addressed immediately. This particular property has a really nice layout! Three very private bedrooms and two living spaces. The lanai was beautiful, and the built-in grill was great for eating in. The full size washer and dryer looked brand-new! We could not have been happier with our stay!

  Home was a lot roomier than I was expecting. Have rented homes all around US & Europe, most complaint are bathroom towels. This home had great towels and lots of them. The only complaint I would have is kitchen did not have any towels ended up using a bath towel. Might want to consider putting light kits on fans in bedrooms - bedrooms only had lamps which made them kind of dark. Some bulbs were burnt out. Again, house was stocked very well, clean and well taken care of.

  We spent 6 wonderful nights at Ka Milo. The home was spotless. The design and decor were beautiful. There was plenty of space for 9 people, and the house came with everything we needed. The grocery store and coffee shop are just a short walk or drive away. And the location is just minutes from some of the best beaches on the Big Island. I can't recommend this house enough!

  Our second visit to KaMilo 224 and it won't be our last! We traveled as two families of four and found the house to be spacious, beautiful, and well stocked. We spent a ton of time on the gorgeous lanai and grilled dinner there most nights. Property grounds, swimming pools and private beach are unparalleled. Great proximity to Mauna Lani village with wonderful supermarket. The weather on the Kohala Coast has been better than anywhere we've been in Hawaii, and we loved the ability to explore the island and different beaches. Couldn't be happier with our experience, and Shig and Maya were great to work with. Highly recommend!
